Google unveils price of artificial intelligence Duet, new feature of Workspace

Google announced on Tuesday (29) the price of Duet, its artificial intelligence to assist in the use of Workspace. Just like its rival Windows Copilot, Google’s cheapest AI plan will cost $30 per month for each user. Duet is now available to be “hired”.

As revealed by CNBC, Google had revealed the price of artificial intelligence to potential customers as early as May, the same month that Duet was presented at the Google I/O event.

Until this announcement from Google, artificial intelligence was only in the testing phase. Through Duet, you can request text summaries, imaging for slideshows, and other features to increase efficiency in using your Workspace applications—such as Docs, Sheets, and Presentations.

The price announced by Google on Tuesday is another point of rivalry of Duet against Microsoft Copilot. The two services promise the same facilities and productivity gains. Copilot and Duet are the “tuned” versions of Clippy, that paper clips that helped you (or not) in Microsoft Office programs — which is now called Microsoft 365.

The difference is that Copilot will also be integrated into Windows 11, while Google has not commented on plans to bring Duet to ChromeOS. But whether you’re a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace user, the two artificial intelligences should add up—even if they don’t deliver on the two companies’ big promises at first.

For those who want to save money and don’t care about integration with their “office” programs, ChatGPT Plus costs $20 and uses the same GPT-4 from Microsoft.
