New location sharing feature in Instagram DMs

Instagram changes its DMs with a revolution.
With an ever changing experience, Instagram revealed a significant overhaul of its direct messaging (DM) capabilities last Monday. Three major new features were introduced: Live location sharing, new nickname in chats, and new features that include more than 300 new stickers.

Live location sharing
The first of these new features describes allowing the sharing of your location in real time with friends. This option, which is particularly helpful whenever one meets in crowded areas for instance concerts, shall be deactivated. To access this feature, users can go to the people’s private messages and select how they wanted to share their location with. You shall be pulled an option that when activated a message ‘You share your location’ appears on the top of the conversation. Sharing can be disabled at any time with the use of options and can not be directed to people in the context of private messages.

Informal names as funnier names
The second new feature is making nicknames available in one-on-one or group conversations. These nicknames, which will be only seen in the private chats, will make usernames that are usually too long, or have an inside joke. To create a nickname, right on the name of the conversation, tap on “Nicknames” option and set the username, which you would like to change.

Over 300 new stickers
Last but not least, you can now include some fun in the DMs as Instagram has expanded the selection of stickers to over 300, adding 17 new sticker packs. It’s new that you can add the stickers which you like to the list of your favorites including the stickers created by your friends.
