As you may know, OnePlus has given an appointment to its fans this Monday, March 8, 2021. Only, this appointment hid another, since the manufacturer invites us to wait until March 23, 2021 to officially discover the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro and 9R. Nevertheless, the Chinese brand did not just give a simple date, no.

OnePlus also revealed a lot of information: the main photo sensor of the three cameras is being developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, an optical specialist. Like Huawei with Leica, the manufacturer saw fit to hire an expert in the field of photography. This partnership lasted at least three years, and OnePlus plans to invest heavily (more than 150 million euros) to catch up on the photo part.

A first teaser as a mouthful

While waiting for this conference scheduled for March 23, OnePlus has just published on its Twitter account a first official video during which we can briefly see the OnePlus 9 Pro and its photo sensors. As you can imagine, the trailer focuses on the partnership with Hasselblad.

We can therefore admire (provided you put on Pause) the quadruple sensor of the flagship. According to a recent leak, this photo set would therefore consist of a 48MP main sensor accompanied by an ultra wide-angle sensor of 50 MP. As can be seen during the trailer, a laser autofocus seems to be part of the game, installed just above the Flash LED. Note that it’s a good bet that the OnePlus 9 Pro is the only one to benefit from four photo sensors.

As for the OnePlus 9R, there are still many areas of shadow. From what we know, it will be a more affordable model with a Snapdragon 690 processor and a 6.5″ AMOLED display in 1080p, all with a 90 Hz refresh frequency. It will not be until the official presentation of The OnePlus 9 on March 23, 2021 to confirm or not this information.
