Honor could finally go international after leaving Huawei. Reports from a Chinese source say the firm’s next high-end smartphone will be unveiled in July. The V40, released last January, is not powerful enough to hope to sell around the world.
Honor X10
In November 2020, Huawei sold its Honor subsidiary for an alleged sum of 12.8 billion euros. Since then, the world has been eagerly awaiting the Chinese firm’s first independent products. After weeks of suspense, we finally learned that the latter retains its Android license for its smartphones. De facto,we could expect a rapid launch of a new device. Indeed, the V40 was released on January 22 in China.
The success was very much the appointment: the stocks sold out in just 3 minutes and 46 seconds. Nevertheless, still no international launch on the horizon. According to some reports, the smartphone’s Dimensity 1000 processor, which is less powerful than today’s high-end standards, is not good enough to hope for worldwide marketing. But things could soon change: an internal source saysHonor’s next smartphone will be unveiled next July.

The next Honor would be equipped with a Snapdragon 888
This time, the Chinese manufacturer would see the big picture. The release of the V40 would have boosted the ambitions of the latter, which would this time tackle the high-end market. Unsurprisingly, it would be the Snapdragon 888, the most powerful processor of the moment, that will propel the beast. Zhao Ming, CEO of Honor, said in an interview that collaboration with all its suppliers has recently resumed.
With an agreement with a Qualcomm earlier this year, it was only natural that the firm chose the Snapdragon 888. This significant gain in power could signify Honor’s return to the international. However, no official communication has yet been made on the subject. It is therefore difficult to say with certainty that his next smartphone will be well marketed in Europe and the United States.
