Nubia teases a quick 80W refill!

Nubia has just teaser the existence of a quick refill of 80W on Chinese social networks. This new technology would make its debut on the Red Magic 5G, the brand’s next gaming smartphone.

On January 31, 2020, Ni Fei, the CEO and co-founder of Nubia, posted a photo of a mysterious smartphone on Sina Weibo, my colleagues at MyDrivers. Given the Chinese entries visible on the screen, the terminal benefits froma quick recharge of up to 80 watts. Ni Fei points out that this is a “quick air-cooled charging solution.” An aeration system can therefore ventilate the smartphone to avoid overheating.

Nubia beats Oppo and its SuperVOOC 65W refill

With this new technology, Nubia is poised to get ahead of Oppo. The Chinese group currently offers the most efficient fast charging on the market, the SuperVOOC 65W. It only takes 25 minutes to fully charge a smartphone battery. As a reminder, the Oppo Reno Ace is the first phone on the market to be equipped with it.

However, Nubia is not the first manufacturer to push the boundaries of fast charging. A few months ago, Xiaomi lifted the lid on a charging technology that climbs to 100W, the Turbo SuperCharge. It only takes 17 minutes to fully recharge a 4000 mAh battery.

Despite several teasers, Xiaomi’s technology has not yet been integrated into a smartphone sold on the market. The Xiaomi Mi 10 must also settle for a 66W charge. We’ll tell you more about it as soon as possible. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to give your opinion in the comments below.
