ZTE has just released an official rendering of the Axon 20 5G, the first smartphone equipped with a selfie sensor under the screen. The image gives us a glimpse of the smartphone in the front and back. It is distinguished by a total absence of a camera visible on the front: no perforation in the screen, no notch and there is no retractable module.
After the fingerprint sensors, the cameras are invited under the screen of smartphones. Many manufacturers are working on this technology, one of the next big innovations in the industry. And as often, the first business model does not come from a mainstream brand. In 2018, Vivo was already the first manufacturer to offer a fingerprint reader under the screen of a smartphone. In 2020, another unpopular Chinese brand in our countries steals the show from the leading players in the market.
Huawei could launch a smartphone with selfie sensor under the screen in 2021, but the first smartphone to benefit from the technology is signed ZTE. The manufacturer has already confirmed a conference for September 1. This will be an opportunity to discover the ZTE Axon 20 5G draws that’s what it is called. Once is not custom, one will not need the services of leakers to discover what the smartphone looks like.
ZTE unveils a complete rendering of the Axon 20 5G
The rendering was shared by Ni Fei, the president of the ZTE mobile division on the Chinese social network Weibo less than two weeks before the smartphone presentation. As you can see from the image at the beginning of the article, it does not have a puncture in the screen or a notch on the front. This is not the first time a smartphone has had this feature. The most interesting thing here is that the front camera is integrated into the slab and not into a retractable module housed in the top bracket.
In the image, the smartphone screen is off. It’s impossible to get an idea of the size of the borders, but the rendering allows us to discover the back of the smartphone that seems to be covered with a textured glass shell with slightly curved edges up. There are also 4 photo sensors whose configuration has yet to be specified. For the rest, the ZTE Axon 20 5G should be equipped with a 6.92″ Full HD OLED display, a SoC Snapdragon 765G backed by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage depending on the leaks. The battery would have a capacity of 4120 mAh.
