Sharp launches cell phone with camera sensor larger than on Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Sharp unveiled a new phone with a one-inch camera sensor. Announced on Monday (17), the Sharp Aquos R6 surpasses the photographic component of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and has a screen with refresh rate that varies up to 240 Hz in its advanced technical data sheet. The smartphone will hit stores in June in Japan.

The 20 megapixel camera is the great launch gimmick. Its sensor is 1 inch long, which helps capture more light and offers photos in more detail, for example. In addition, the piece puts the Aquos R6 ahead of the Mi 11 Ultra, which had the largest sensor on a 1/1.12 inch phone to date.

It is worth remembering that the piece is also the same size as the sensor found in the Panasonic Lumix CM1, launched in 2014. But despite coming out of the Android box, the device is more like a compact camera than a mobile phone.

The camera still brings other highlights. This is the case of leica’s seven-element lens, with an aperture of f/1.9. The set is also accompanied by a ToF camera, to capture depth of field, and an LED flash, and records videos in 8K. The 12.6 megapixel front camera, in turn, sits in a hole in the center of the display.

The highlights are still on the front. The 6.6-inch screen features curved sides and a resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels. Its variable refresh rate ranges from 1 Hz to 240 Hz. In charge of comparison, the maximum frequency exceeds specifications found in gamers phones, such as lenovo legion duel, with 144 Hz panel.

The advanced data sheet is formed by qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and 12 GB of RAM. To save even more photos, music and the like, the 128 GB storage can also be expanded via memory card of up to 1 TB. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh.

The other specifications are for 5G connectivity and android 11 factory. The smartphone also has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. To unlock the launch screen, the fingerprint reader is under the screen, as is the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Motorola Edge+.

The Sharp Aquos R6 is expected to be marketed in Japan in June. The launch price, however, has not yet been revealed by the Japanese brand.

There is no forecast for the launch of the mobile phone in Brazil and other countries.
