New MacBook Pro should be announced with Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max processors

The new generation of MacBook Pro, finally, can be presented on Monday (18). One of the expectations is that the Apple computer will be announced with new versions of the Apple M1 chip, possibly known as Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max. That’s what Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in the Power On newsletter.

The information was published on Sunday (17). Gurman explains that a developer informed him that he found references to the names “M1 Pro” and “M1 Max” in his application records. Although there is still no certainty whether these will, in fact, be the models of the new chips, the leak also leaves in doubt whether the names “M1X” and “M2” will be adopted at this time.

“The developer mentioned above told me that new chips for MacBook Pro appeared in the records with the names ‘M1 Pro’ and ‘M1 Max’,” the journalist said in his Sunday newsletter. “I’m not saying that Apple will take that direction with its real marketing names, but that’s another possibility – albeit more confusing.”

Other possible details of the computers have also been made public in recent months. In May, Mark Gurman revealed that the new MacBook Pro should bring a chip with up to ten cores, eight for high performance and two for simpler tasks. In charge of comparison, the M1 has eight cores (four for each need).

The number of components for graphics should also go up. Variations of 16 or 32 cores are expected, while the M1 has seven or cores, depending on the computer purchased. Ram can exceed the current limit of 16 GB to offer options up to 64 GB. Other awaited changes are the return of the HDMI port, the MagSafe charger and more.

It’s not long before Apple introduces its new products. The manufacturer of the iPhone has scheduled a new event for the afternoon of Monday (18) that can be stage for both the new MacBook Pro and other gadgets such as the AirPods 3. “The beasts are loose,” says the invitation to the conference on the homepage of Apple Brazil’s website.

One of the bets is that the notebook is one of the stars of the day. Following the launch of the iPhone 13, 6th generation iPad Mini and 9th generation iPad in September, the company is expected to unveil its new generation of computers today. The MacBook Pro is expected to have 14- and 16-inch models.

Other bets revolve around the launch of the AirPods 3. Apparently, the new generation of wireless headphones tend to add a design more like the Pro variant. The Mac Mini may also get an upgrade, but the new MacBook Air tends to stay only for 2022, according to behind-the-scenes information.
