Samsung again teased Apple in an announcement, comparing the flagship camera, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, to that of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. As usual, the South Korean pinned the rival while talking about its zoom features, but this time the provocation went beyond social networks, reaching a TV commercial. The main sentence is: “Your mobile update should not be a downgrade”, in free translation.
The commercial shows some situations in which the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera would do better than that of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, obviously.
One of them consists of a sandwich with melted cheese, which looks tasty in both photos, but has more saturated colors in those that were taken with the S21 Ultra (besides looking sharper when the image is approximated due to the 108 megapixel camera).
In relation to the range of the camera, the brand uses in its favor the 100x digital zoom and commins it to the humble maximum magnification offered by the iPhone in a photo of the moon. See below:
Another feature present in galaxy cell phone cameras was also cited: the Single Take, which allows you to take photos and videos at the same time, so you choose after which record you would like to keep or share.
Galaxy S21 Ultra is better than the iPhone 12 Pro Max?
More versatile, I’d say. As you can see, commercials use very specific scenarios, which may not really make a difference to many people. What stands out is the taunt so incisive to just one competitor – and it also reminds that Apple is a little behind in the “innovation in photography” issue, even though the high quality of the cameras of a recent iPhone is indisputable.
