Apple AirPods could provide health tracking as early as 2026

Apple is diversifying: On the horizon we can identify two new products.
Ming Chi-Kuo, the analyst have predicted that Apple’s next few years could be full of new things. In a recent blog post, Kuo announced the release of two additional Apple products in 2026: A home smart camera and a kind of AirPods that focus more on health aspect.

Smart camera: a new dimension for the home
The first of them is mass production of a new wireless IP camera for the home by 2026 that Kuo highlighted. The plan would be to sell ‘tens of millions’ of products every year. Although Kuo does not go into more detail regarding the camera itself, he believes that it will be “substantially enhanced” by Apple’s existing environment and the compatibility of Siri and Apple Intelligence.

This product does not seem to be part of Apple’s smart display, rumored to be unveiled early next year. By the recent rumors, such a device would feature a screen like the iPad do Amazon Echo Show. Industry insiders say the company has more plans to increase the integration of smart home devices in the next couple of years. A camera could be incorporated into the design and also provide recording and live viewing capabilities, should Apple manage to incorporate AI features into the mix.

AirPods: the health turning point
Regarding the AirPods, Kuo has said that owing to the success of Apple Watch, Apple plans health in the same way with AirPods. The specifics are not outlined but it looks like Apple will begin to really concentrate on this area from 2026 with later models “to incorporate more health management elements”.

It is worth noting that other companies, such as Samsung with heart rate tracking on the Galaxy Buds, have already gone down this route. However, these features often come at the expense of battery life. Given the small size of the headphones, Apple will have to make sure that users can still use the AirPods for long periods of time.

It will still be some time before we can discover and try these new products. Nevertheless, these announcements show that Apple is starting to expand its offering, which is long overdue. Let’s just hope that there will be no delay in these launches.
