the iPhone 13 Pro features a screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, which should make animations smoother. However, this has not happened to all apps so far due to a bug. Apple is starting to pack up in the beta version of iOS 15.4.
The problem, according to the company, is in a component called Core Animation. It has a bug that prevents developers from using the full potential of the ProMotion screen, which has variable refresh rates and can reach 120 Hz.
The first beta of iOS 15.4 already brings a fix for this bug. Christian Selig, creator of the Apollo and Amplosion apps, said on his Twitter that he received a message from someone from Apple stating that the problem had been fixed and that all apps automatically received 120 Hz animations.
It tested and proved: each frame is displayed for 8.33 milliseconds, or 1/120 seconds.
The great advantage of this feature is to allow for smoother animations and scrolling, as well as a better gaming experience.
The first public beta of iOS 15.4 arrived on Thursday (27), after the release of the final version of iOS 15.3. The trial version brings some very welcome features.
The main one is the possibility of using Face ID even with a mask on the face, something quite useful in pandemic times. Apple says the new feature recognizes “unique features” around the eyes. It also works if you are wearing a mask and glasses.
The system also brings new emojis, universal control, notes on iCloud keys and some technical changes under the hood.
