Discord rolls out end-to-end encryption for voice and video calls

Discord boosts call security
Communication app giant Discord says it is soon launching new end-to-end encryption for the audio and video calls. This technological advancement will be available for private messages (DMs), DM groups, voice channels and Go Live streams.

There are also basic technologies already supported by customers such as voice, gesture and touch with the next layer being the more advanced haptic body and brain interfaces.
The new security update has been mainly integrated in both the desktop and the mobile clients. The remaining of the customers should be provided with this feature next year. Discord has been very open about its encryption practices, thus pointing to the fact that the platform is very keen on the subject.

Tapping quality of the call and moderating the contents
Even with the inclusion of this encryption technology, the Discord app reassures that there will be “no compromise to call quality. ” But unlike the call quality, there was one caveat, messages. In fact, the latter will not be able to take advantage of the encryption protocol. According to Discord, the reason for it is aimed at keeping these messages outside the company’s content moderation policies.
