Galaxy S22 gains new purple color that can also reach the folding

Samsung announced, on Tuesday (26), a new color for the Galaxy S22 called “Bora Purple”. According to the South Korean brand, the hue, which “incorporates optimism and a sense of calm,” will also reach other Galaxy devices later this year. The model will be available for purchases from August 10.

The Galaxy S22 can already be found in a very similar color called “Violet” since launchin February. However, it is much clearer and delivers a camera module in gold.

The “Bora Purple” model, on the other hand, offers a uniform tint that fills the entire construction of the smartphone, including the module that houses the photographic sensors. According to the company, the word “Bora” means “purple” in Korean.

The new color will be available to consumers from August 10, but for now, there is no information about a release in Brazil. Samsung also confirmed that it will reach other Galaxy later this year, but without revealing the name of the handsets.

However, considering that the date reported is the same as the Unpacked event, there is the possibility that the company’s new folding smartphones will be made official with this shade.

Unpacked 2022 promises news
In addition to introducing the new color of the Galaxy S22, Samsung is expected to announce other important devices in Unpacked 2022. The event is expected to host the premiere of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and galaxy watch watches 5.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 should maintain the opening format of the previous generation. In addition, the smartphone is expected to continue with dual camera and advanced specs, including a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4, on the other hand, can be announced without the base to house the cameras, as well as the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The device still tends to bring a battery with a rated capacity of 4,275 mAh.

It is worth remembering that the Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 have already been homologated in Brazil and should reach stores with charger in the box, as revealed by Tecnoblog.

As for the Galaxy Watch 5 line, the Pro version is expected to maintain the aesthetics of the previous generation, but without the rotating crown. In software, all models can run WearOS 3.5.
