Galaxy S23 gaming feature begins to be released to other branded phones

Samsung is making the battery charging “by-pass” feature available to more Galaxys. This feature, which debuted on the Galaxy S23 line, is activated by Game Booster and can only be used during games. The feature causes the charger’s power to go straight to the processor, preventing battery overheating during long games.

The tool’s name in game booster is “Pause USB Power Delivery”. When you activate it, the system will “skip” the battery during charging, delivering direct power to the processor. In addition to avoiding heating problems, the feature protects battery health and improves performance during games.

Galaxy S23 feature arrives for other models
According to SamMobile, Samsung is releasing the Game Booster feature for older Galaxys. The site states that the Galaxy A73 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 2, 3 and 4 received the tool. The novelty is made available in an update of the Game Booster itself, not needing to update the system.

Some users have reported that the feature only appeared in their Game Booster after using Samsung’s 45W charger. In the test performed by SamMobile with an S21 Ultra, the feature was not made available even with the use of the charger.

There is a possibility that the manufacturer will only release the Pause UBS Power Delivery for smartphones released from 2022 onwards. In any case, Samsung did not announce the feature either during or after the launch of the Galaxy S23 line.

Best feature for Galaxy S23 games?
The novelty is considered by Android Police as the best gamer feature of the Galaxy S23. SamMobile, on the other hand, is more measured, saying it’s the most useful for gaming. Unanimity is that improved gaming performance and battery health extension is welcome.

Playing with the phone on charging is a harmful habit for the smartphone, and can overheat the device and affect battery health. By bringing power straight to the processor, the battery is spared and the user can play with few worries.

In a test conducted by Sam Mobile, with pause USB Power Delivery enabled, the smartphone used 6 W of the charger. When disabling the feature, charging jumped to 17 W. However, to activate the tool, it is mandatory that the battery is more than 20% charged.
