Instagram is testing new feed with only verified content

Instagram has started tests with a button that allows you to select only verified posts on the social network. The information was revealed by Adam Mosseri, head of the social network, on his broadcast channel last Monday (23). Nowadays, the verified badge is earned by profiles of relevant people or by paying for Meta Verified.

The executive says the feature will be a new way for businesses and content creators to be discovered. Thus, the “Meta Verified” filter will be next to the “Following” and “Favorites” options when the user taps on the platform’s logo (in the upper left corner of the app).

Mosseri did not reveal how big the new tool will be tested and which users will be able to try the new feature in advance. Also, there is no forecast of when the feature may be made available to the general public.

Early Reveal
The “Verified Feed” is nothing new for people who follow Instagram news closely. In August of this year, developer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered the functionality in the app’s source code for iOS and Android.

At first, the feature was compared to the Verified tab in the Notifications tab of X (formerly Twitter). However, the difference is that Elon Musk’s social network option only separates user interactions with X Premium subscriber profiles.

Meta denied that it was conducting tests of the filter of verified accounts on the Instagram feed at the time. In addition, the big tech declined to say whether the feature was in development and would be made available to the public.

One more feature of Meta Verified for Instagram
The filter of posts from verified accounts should make Meta Verified more attractive to users and content producers who want to have more exposure on Instagram.

The model offers certain extra features for subscribers. For example, the blue verified badge on the profile, priority in platform support, and increased protection against impersonation.
