WhatsApp Beta lets you send photos on iPhone with more quality

WhatsApp has been preparing an option to send more quality photos for some time. Now the function to choose the compression level when uploading images in platform conversations began to be released in the trial version of the messaging application for iPhone (iOS) this Saturday (24). It is not yet known when the novelty will reach all users of the messenger.

The information was revealed by WABetaInfo. The tool landed for a group of users participating in the testing program in whatsApp Beta version 2.21.150.11 for iPhone. Also according to the specialized site, the feature is available in the trial version of messenger for Android since the last day 17.

The novelty first came to light in July on the Android messaging app. Just as it was discovered at the time, the setting gives users three options to define the quality of images sent in individual conversations and groups. Learn what each alternative means below:

Automatic: the quality is set according to the connection;
Better quality: images are sent with more quality. On the other hand, uploading may take longer;
Data saving: Images are sent with less quality. On the other hand, the upload can be faster.
The new options are available in storage and data settings within the application settings. In addition to photos, WhatsApp is also preparing the same options to set quality when uploading videos across the platform. The feature, however, is not yet available to messenger users.

WhatsApp can be used on up to four devices
WhatsApp will allow you to use the same account on up to four devices simultaneously. With the new architecture, users will be able to use the messenger on the computer without relying on the phone nearby, for example. The novelty is now available to users of the beta version of the app for Android and iPhone (iOS) phones.

WhatsApp has even started releasing other news to users in recent weeks. This is the case of the option to join or return to an ongoing voice or video call, announced by the messenger team last week. Password cloud backups are also being made available in beta.

WhatsApp has also become an option to receive Instagram authentication codes. On the 13th, the social network of photos and videos received a configuration so that the messenger could also be defined as a method of authentication in two steps. The function is now available in the Android and iPhone apps.
