Xiaomi announced, on Tuesday (28), the Xiaomi 12. The new Chinese-branded phone stands out for its advanced data sheet with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and the smaller screen with Full HD resolution. The smartphone with triple camera of 50 megapixels was announced alongside the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the Xiaomi 12X.
Xiaomi’s smartphone reaches consumers to succeed the Mi 11 line, which was announced on the same day in 2021. The launch is one of the first phones in the world to bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The chip, it is worth remembering, was revealed at the end of November with 8K HDR and 5G ultra-fast footage.
Another detail of the data sheet is by the battery. At 4,500 mAh, the launch component has 67-watt fast recharging support that promises to go from zero to 100% in less than 40 minutes. In addition, the smartphone has options with RAM of up to 12 GB, storage of up to 256 GB and cooling system.
The smartphone will be more compact than the previous generation. To go head-to-head with the iPhone 13, the Xiaomi 12 has a smaller screen, 6.28 inches, Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and an update rate of 120 Hz. According to the company, the phone has earned the DisplayMate A+ certificate, attesting to the high quality of the phone’s display.
The photographic set with a feature to enhance the identification of people and objects (Xiaomi Cyberdog) is led by a 50 megapixel camera. In addition, there are two more sensors, one of 13 MP with ultrawide lens and another of 5 MP for macro. The screen even brings a hole to house the 32 megapixel front camera.
Xiaomi also unveiled the Xiaomi 12 Pro during the event. More advanced option of the new line, the smartphone has 6.78-inch screen with 2K resolution and LTPO technology. In this way, the panel can adjust the refresh rate from 10 Hz to 120 Hz dynamically. The display even has a 32 MP camera in a hole.
The cell phone brings several points in common with the conventional variant. But the big highlight is the triple camera which consists of three 50 megapixel sensors. The smartphone still brings the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, but the battery is not only slightly larger (4,600 mAh) but has 120 watt speed recharge support.
The Xiaomi 12X is another phone unveiled during the event. Almost the same as the conventional edition, the phone differs mainly by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor in place of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the absence of wireless recharge. The phone will even reach stores with a more affordable suggested price.
The Xiaomi 12 will hit stores in China with a suggested price from 3,699 iuanes (about R$ 3,280 in direct conversion). The Pro edition is a little more expensive: from 4,699 iuanes (about R$ 4,165). The Xiaomi 12X is the most in account: the values start at 3,199 iuanes (about R$ 2,835).
The global version of the phones is expected to be announced to the public in early 2022. But so far, there is no forecast of launch of the smartphone in Brazil. The Mi 11, in turn, came to national trade in June with Snapdragon 888, 120 Hz screen and triple camera of 108 megapixels for R $ 8 thousand.
Another novelty of the day is the MIUI 13 interface, which was announced today. In addition, the company even unveiled the Xiaomi Watch S1 watch at the event.
