You’ll need to subscribe to Twitter Blue to use TweetDeck

Twitter is preparing yet another change that should displease users. TweetDeck will get a new version, which promises to fix problems with the app, but will now be only for Twitter Blue subscribers.

The news was announced by the Twitter support account on the social network itself. According to the company, the tool’s settings will be maintained and can be imported.

All the features to create a tweet are still available. For now, the teams functionality will be unavailable, but will be restored in the coming weeks.

One point, though, is going to make a lot of people angry. In 30 days, TweetDeck will only be available to verified users.

To get a verification badge, you need to subscribe to Twitter Blue, which costs $ 42 monthly or $ 440 annually — prices are more expensive in the iPhone app.

In addition to TweetDeck, Twitter Blue includes editing of already published tweets, text formatting, higher character limits, longer videos with 1080p resolution and priority in responses and search.

TweetDeck is for advanced and professional users
TweetDeck is a tool that allows you to create multiple columns for Twitter. In each of them, the user can put various information, such as notifications, direct messages and searches in real time.

The tool is having problems. According to Twitter officials, this has nothing to do with the tweet reading limit imposed by Elon Musk over the weekend. The issue is with another change: the removal of old APIs.

Both the limits and the end of APIs have the same goal: to prevent the scraping of Twitter data, which can be done by artificial intelligence companies to train their models. At least, that’s what Twitter officially says.

According to officials of the social network, the new TweetDeck should start appearing to users later this week. This version has been in preview mode since 2021, and has received criticism for showing less on-screen content than the previous version.

As I said up there, the strength of the tool is to show a lot at the same time and facilitate monitoring. If fewer tweets are displayed, the job gets harder.
