Apple intended to return to face-to-face activities in September with a hybrid work scheme. The manufacturer of the iPhone, however, chose to postpone the return to the offices by at least one month, due to the delta variant of the new coronavirus (causator of COVID-19). That’s what Bloomberg reveals on Tuesday (20).
Which iPhone models are compatible with iOS 15?
The details were reported by people aware of the matter. To Bloomberg, they told Bloomberg that Apple has extended its forecast of a return to face-to-face activities “until October at the very least.” The change in plans was due to the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 (disease caused by the new coronavirus) driven by the delta variant.
Plans to return to the offices were announced in June. Apple unveiled a hybrid work scheme in which employees could join the home office for two days each week. As for those who need to perform the activities in person, the return would happen between four and five days a week.
Also according to the site, employees will be warned about the resumption of face-to-face activities one month in advance.
Apple: employees criticize hybrid work scheme
Apple has been accused by employees of cracking down on the home office in recent weeks. Recently, some employees of the iPhone maker even threatened to resign if the company does not review the hybrid work scheme. The complaints were shared on a Slack channel with more than 6,000 members.
But this is not the first report of dissatisfaction made by employees. In June, company employees sent a letter to the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, asking the company to reconsider the model. Senior Vice President of Retail and Staff Deirdre O’Brien, on the other hand, said the new policy would be maintained.
