Edifier continues to bet on true wireless incoming headphones to compete with Xiaomi, BlitzWolf, Baseus and other Chinese brands that are featured in this area. Only this year the company announced a series in Brazil for all kinds of taste. The Edifier TWS200 is one of them and, as you can see in the images, the model aims to suit anyone looking for something like the popular Apple headphones, but for a much friendlier price.
Costing $399, the TWS200 has Bluetooth 5.0, waterjet protection, battery for up to six hours of sound or 18 hours with the case, and aptX decoding. But how should sound performance be? I tested the Edifier TWS200 and told all the details in today’s review.

Design, comfort and case
“Unique, clean and elegant design”. This is how Edifier defines the look of the TWS200. I honestly believe she’s praising Apple’s phone in its communication, because the product is a blatant copy of the AirPods. The only difference is that they decided to write the name Edifier on the cable, which automatically already eliminates the impression that this is the original AirPods and passes the idea of the product being counterfeit. The shot backfired.
But in addition, the cable is slightly long when compared to the Apple model. And to be honest again, it troubled me: I had the feeling that the headphones were too bulky in the ear, drawing attention on the street, but that’s something personal. For those who practice outdoor exercises, the devices can withstand splashes and even jets of water thanks to IPX4 certification.
In terms of comfort, the experience is the same as the AirPods and there is no denying it, given that the format is the same. During the period I stayed with them, I felt no discomfort. Wearables have a soft fit, do not weigh on the ear and there are no signs that they will fall easily during a walk or run, and fortunately the pressure is zero.
The case is also very similar to that of Apple’s headphones. At least it is compact and can be transported easily. On the front there is the brand ID, behind there is a pairing button and at the bottom is the power port which is microUSB, to show us that there is nothing so bad that can not get worse.
Features and connectivity
On the cable itself, the user can control tracks, answer and disconnect phone calls, as well as activate virtual assistants. But the essential to Edifier does not deliver: it is not possible to move forward and rewind the songs through the headphones, which forces me to pick up the phone every time I want to skip a track, for example. You also can’t configure touches because, because the TWS200 is an input device, the company doesn’t make an app available, but that’s not necessarily a downside.
In connectivity we have here the Bluetooth 5.0 which did very well and did not lose the connection even when I walked around the apartment with the distant cell phone. In latency testing, video delay barely exists and the TWS200 is a good phone while consuming movies, series and games. And just like the Redmi AirDots 3 and the Edifier X5, the TWS200 works independently, that is, if you keep one handset in the case, the other one keeps playing.
The sound of the Edifier TWS200 is not impressive, but it is good for the category and I believe it should please most people. It has a more open signature when compared to the Redmi AirDots 3, this means that in practice, xiaomi’s true wireless will deliver a more full-bodied sound with serious assets all the time. The TWS200 mids are bright and don’t always sound balanced, and treble tends to stay alive and more balanced.
