Galaxy Tab S8 tablets will receive an update that ensures versatility when using more than one app simultaneously. Samsung announced, on Thursday (1), the One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12L, which will reach users with several improvements to the multitasking of devices. The new version of the system will also reach other models of the South Korean brand.
The update follows the release of Android 12L started in March. The new version of the system is aimed at devices with large screens, such as tablets and folding phones, to improve the user experience. Thus, users have access to interfaces optimized for notifications, settings, and more.
The system will reach the tablets of the Galaxy S8 line and other models of the brand. And Samsung immediately highlighted the new taskbar, which will display navigation buttons and shortcuts to open apps. The feature is still hidden, without taking up space on the display – to display it, just drag your finger from the bottom edge up.
“Customize your taskbar with your favorite apps and tap easily and quickly between active sessions,” they announced. “The taskbar also remembers and displays your two most recently used apps at any time, so you can easily continue where you left off.”
Tablets will support up to 3 apps simultaneously
The function still makes it easy to run applications simultaneously. For this, the user just needs to tap on the icon of the desired app and drag it to the left, right, top or bottom side of the screen. In all, you can divide the screen into three, as shown in the image below:
Turn on the “Swipe to split screen” option.
You can also create app sets to run simultaneously. Following the same logic, the system allows you to group up to three applications into an icon that will be positioned on the taskbar. When you select it, programs will run side by side as organized by the user.
The update brings other improvements, such as the ability to hide floating windows in Calendar and other compatible apps. For this, just tap and hold off the pop-over. You can then see what was overlapping details of an event.
Samsung has not reported when the update will reach users. In a statement, the manufacturer said that “Android 12L will be made available for Galaxy tablets, including, but not least, tab S8, Tab S7, Tab S7 FE, Tab S6, Tab S6 Lite and Tab Active 3”. The update distribution calendar in Brazil is also a mystery.
