[Review] Xiaomi Redmi AirDots: good and cheap
Costing about R $ 300, the phone has battery that ensures up to 7 hours of music streaming and, with the case, this autonomy advances to 30 hours. The model still has adaptive aptX codec for higher quality sound and IPX4 certification. Does it make sense to upgrade? I evaluated the Redmi AirDots 3 and count my impressions in this review.

Design, comfort and case
Unlike other headphones in this category, the Redmi AirDots 3 has its own design that many people already know. It’s really very easy to identify him on the street and Xiaomi knows this well, so a radical change in design was out of the question. This new device is similar to its predecessor and neither the case has undergone a major overhaul, as you can see in the images.

This navy blue used by Xiaomi marks the current generation and, for sure, is the color I would choose at the time of purchase. The brand also launched options in pink and white, but I confess that I missed the traditional black. Despite this, I believe that deep blue should suit people who like a more discreet headset. Still in the visual, the chubby structure of the product can give an impression of possible discomforts during use. The truth, however, is that the AirDots 3 is quite light and I felt no discomfort sprees over the testing period.

I just didn’t like wearing it during exercise, because all the time it seemed like the wearables were going to fall to the ground. The medium borrachinha, which is already pre-installed, could not leave the TWS firm. When replacing the small one, the phone got more stuck, but not as I would like. Speaking of activities, AirDots 3 is IPX4 certified for sweat and splashof water, just like competitors.

The case, in turn, has a very nice rubbery appearance. It is bulkier when compared to the case of the Edifier X3 and the Realme Buds Q, but should not generate inconvenience in the day to day. On the front, there is a white LED to accompany the battery, the rear received the USB-C connection and Xiaomi has placed, on the inside, a pairing button.

Features and connectivity
To the delight of some and others’ sadness, the model no longer has physical buttons and all control started to function by touch. Two taps on the right phone pause sit and play on the song; two taps on the left earbud triggers the virtual assistant of the connected device. They are quick controls, very useful, but I believe xiaomi could enhance this experience. I say this because you can not change the commands and it does not let control the volume directly in the headphones, feature that the Edifier TWS1 Pro, its competitor, allows.

In connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2 does an excellent job and has appeared more and more in the input headphones. The communication is very consistent and, even with the phone distant, I was able to walk around the house, with several walls in the way, and the sound was not shredded. Latency for videos and games is also excellent, which means that, yes, The Redmi AirDots 3 is a good gadget for those who prefer to watch movies, series and play on the smartphone.
